Gambit Points for MTG?

Last night at the FNM event I became aware that several of our newer players are unaware of the Gambit Ranking points!

So just to confirm Gambit run a ranking system for most of its game systems. Players earn point be participating in one of our events, in the case of magic this would be a prerelease, FNM, celebration event, launch party, game day, Martin's draft, Caspar's cue, Olly's deck building challenges and last years Grand Tournament!

I try and update the rankings on a Saturday morning and the current positions can be found HERE!

So what do the points get you? Well firstly it is nice to see where you are in comparison with you local players rather than Planewalker points which are national! Secondly and maybe most important it will give you a chance of being invited to the Gambit Grand Tournament, which will be held in December and will be open to the top players in the Gambit rankings as well as some of the major event winners through out the year!

The Grand Tournament is a multi format event which aims to find our best player of the year and the prize is a collection of the prize cards that we have issue throughout this year, currently this stands at a impressive 32 cards, which are:

Ancient Grudge
Dismember
Tectonic Edge
Nearheath Stalker
2 x Demon/Angel Token
Glistener Elf
Ravenous Demon
Despise
Gather the Townsfolk
Acidic Slime
Restoration Angel
Mondronen Shamen
Latch Seeker
Zombie Apocalypse
2 x Human / Wolf Token
Curse of Thirst
Strangleroot Geist
Moonsilver Spear
Killing Wave
Silverblade Paladin
Gravecrawler
Primordial Hydra
Serra Avenger
Vampire Nocturnus
Cattedrale della Guerra
Lingering Souls
Cathedral of War
Mwonvuli Beast Tracker
Merfolk Mesmerist
Magmaquake

With the coming Return to Ravnica approaching fast it will give players chance to earn more points and of course add cards to the prize pool!

Although if you score well in an advent you are likely to move more quickly the system also rewards though that attend regularly as the more you play the more points you will get!

Well done to Alex for moving into the top 5 and Martin for moving into the top 10! Also a quick mention to Jonathon who is leaving us to go to Uni and will not be back until Christmas, who just move up to 15th!
