Games Day January 2011

Sunday 30th January was Gambit Games first official gaming event of 2011. As well as hosting our usual end of month full day of gaming at St Leonard's Church Hall in Hove, we also held our first MTG Prerelease Event.

We had 16 players in total and all of the games were played in excellent spirit. The Phyrexian Decks were the most popular with the eventual tournament winning and our first Company Champion for Magic was .... John Herring! He had an excellent start to the day opening a 'Tezzeret, agent of Bolas' and played an excellent tournament only losing one hand!!!

Nathan Minter finished the day as the top Mirran player only just behind John by three points, claiming the second place, with Robert Wyle a further 3 points behind in third.

The club day was also extremely busy, with most gaming tables being in use throughout the day! Games systems played this month were : Warhammer, Warhammer 40K, Necromunda, Magic the Gathering, War Machine and Mordheim. We also tried out our new menu this month and offered a much wider range of food, this proved very successful and we hope to continue to work on this over the coming months (let us know what you would like to see on offer)
