New Phyrexia Game Day

Gambit Games will be holding a New Phyrexia Game Day on Tuesday 14th June at Kids Dreams. Estimated start time will be 19:30.

The theme for the evening is block constructed. This means players must build a 60 card minimum deck only using cards from the Scars of Mirrodin block. (Scars of Mirrodin, Mirrodin Besieged and New Phyrexia)
Players may wish to use a 15 card sideboard of which the above rules apply.

As well as being restricted to block, players will once again have to pick a faction; New Phyrexia or the Mirran Resistance. Normally, a faction affiliated deck would only contain 10 cards with your chosen factions watermark. However, as the majority of cards in the block have a watermark, this means your deck must contain only cards with either the Mirran or Phyrexian symbol.













With regards to Planeswalkers, as they do not have a watermark they can fit into any faction deck.

Just for attending players will receive a full alternate art version of Priest of Urabrask whilst high placed players will get a full alternate version of Myr Superion.

40K Doubles Tournament - The Result

On Saturday 28th May Gambit Games held its second Warhammer 40K Doubles Tournament. Unfortunately Gareth and Aaron were not able to defend their title, so we knew from the off that we would have two new company champions when we finished.

We had several teams, of varying ages, abilities, experience and armies. We had Blood Angels, Sisters of Battle, Tau Empire, Imperial Guard, Space Wolves, Grey Knights and Space Marines all represented. Everyone seemed to enjoy the day and several of the games were very closely contested.

Highlight of the day for me, but probably not for Jeremy and Rob was a Tau fire warrior destroying a blood angels dreadnaught in close combat!!!

Highest placed of the under 16s teams were Charlie and James with a joint army of orks, who managed to acquired 9 objectives/kill points through out the day, pushing in front of Alex and Sam and Jack and Washington all of whom scored 1 win, 1 draw and 2 loses.

Jeremy and Rob had two wins, one draw and a lose which pushed them just outside the top two! Colin and Matt won 3 games during the day losing only to the eventual winners scoring a total of 91 points to come second! Although they did win the award for best army for their Space Wolf and Grey Knight force.

Our eventual winners; winning all of their games, claiming an impressive 17 objective/kill points and accruing a massive 4467 victory points were ..... Michael and Chris with a killer combination of Blood Angels and Sisters of Battle.

Blood Bowl News Update

The Blood bowl season is now well underway! All matches have been played for the first round, leaving 4 teams on 3 points and 4 on 0 points.

In the last game of the first round, Colin's Ork team 'Kill Em All!" tried to live up to its name against the league new comers 'Mike's Girls'. However only the blitzer 'Shrex' actually managed to hurt anyone, but with both 'Orog Luk' and 'Faff Taff' scoring touchdowns 'Kill Em All' won 2-0.This means that every game of the first round has finished 2-0!!!!

Doubles Week - Wings of War

Tonight we held a small Wings of War event at Kids Dreams. Thanks to all that attended, it was great to play wings of war in a team format! With each team having a twin seater plane and a single seater wing man for protection, moves had to be well thought out! The eventual winners were Barry and Gary finishing the evening without losing a plane!

The next event for wings of war will be the Second World War tournament - watch this space as tickets will go on sale in the coming weeks.

Apocalypse World

The world of the apocalypse, started as of Sunday 29th.

Though our first session had only three people (and just two of them were actual players), the roleplay went well enough. I was rather disappointed we didn't get at least another player or two, however for our next session on Tuesday, next week, I hope to have many more players. In fact, the way things seem to be going, too many.

Thanks to Nick, playing Man the gunlugger, and Dominic, playing Jag the driver, for being fantastic players. Driving up to a random city in an ambulance towing a bus/tank, then dragging a man named Princy with them. Man ended up blowing a woman's limbs from her body through blindfire - something that may have repercussions. And now he has a city of his own!
